Sculpture in the landscape

Taking the idea of the Totem to Greece I worked with trees in my garden to make totemic sculptures.
I am not a sculptor , my training and experience is mostly in painting but I became very excited by the challenge of working with large objects in a large space.
this relates to my ambitions when undertaking the DYCP period of how as a woman artist I could take up space through my work.
on a vertical learning curve I had a new romance with power tools and the existing objects I have collected.
This is an on going project and I’m planning to up my carving skills soon in stone and wood.
I don’t differentiate the sculpture from figures in my painting and used digital drawing to make the bridge . Once again the sculptures have symbolic significance for me .
